NEW YORK — The New York City fire department says its computer-aided 911 emergency dispatch system was down for two hours on Monday.

According to myfoxny.com, the outage started at 2:30 p.m.

FDNY officials say dispatchers worked manually during the outage and sent out emergency crews by radio.

The FDNY says additional staffers assisted with the calls.

The agency says no calls for life-threatening emergencies came in during the two-hour period.

The agency says it doesn’t believe response times were affected or that calls were missed.

It wasn’t immediately known what caused the outage.
