Video: TikTok star leads police on high speed pursuit

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — An 18-year-old social media influencer led Florida police on a high-speed pursuit Friday, video shows. According to WFLA, Damaury Mikula told police that he “wanted to do something fun.”

“Mr. Mikula advised his state of mind was that he is young, makes a lot of money, and has a fast car and he can do whatever he wants,” said Trooper W. Kelly. “Mr. Mikula advised he wanted to do something fun for three seconds, and it cost him.”

According to WANE, Mikula glanced at the officer waiting in traffic behind him, then sped away and ignored the officer’s commands to pull over.

Dashcam video of the incident shows Mikula running a red light and racing away. Later, video shows police arresting Mikula.

Police said Mikula was “clearly showing an exhibition of speed” and accelerated over 100 mph. Mikula told officers that he earns about $400,000 annually by blogging his life on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, according to the report.
