WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. – A boy is running in honor of police officers killed in the line of duty.
Zechariah Cartledge is running one mile for each law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty, local news station WBRC reports. He’s run 10 so far.
Cartledge calls his cause “Running 4 Heroes” and he doesn’t plan on stopping soon. He has 148 miles to run for officers killed in 2018.
With a blue-striped flag in hand, he dedicates each run to an officer.
“The reason why I wanted to do it tonight is because I’m furious about this,” the 10-year-old boy said in a recent Facebook video dedicated to Officer Sean Tuder. “This war against police somehow is not going to peace. It keeps going on. It needs to stop.

With each mile, Cartledge hopes he can bring awareness to the sacrifice each officer makes every day to keep their communities safe.
Cartledge is also raising money for Tunnel to Towers, a foundation that honors fallen military and first responders.
