BOSTON — The Boston Police Department added a new feature to the Boston Marathon for its 120th year — thin blue lines appeared near the finish line, Boston.com reported.

Commissioner Bill Evans helped paint the lines before the race and the department posted photos of their efforts on Facebook.

The blue lines ensured runners had a clear path at the final left turn of the race.

The Facebook post garnered over 1,000 reactions.
