Spotlight: PatrolEyes dedicated to providing affordable body cam solutions for every dept.'s budget
PatrolEyes carries a variety of body camera models in order to meet the unique needs of all police personnel
Company name: PatrolEyes
Headquarters: Ada, Mich.
Signature Product: PatrolEyes edge camera
1. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
PatrolEyes was started because we saw an opportunity in the body camera industry that was not being fulfilled. Many cameras were very expensive or large and bulky at that time. We developed an affordable solution for departments that would allow every department to deploy body cameras — regardless of budget.
2. What is your signature product and how does it work?
Our PatrolEyes edge camera is our latest offering. The edge uses the latest in compression technology to save on storage space. It also captures a higher frame rate than most models and records high-speed action, which can be slowed down frame-by-frame to provide accurate information. The pre-record option can also offer up to one minute before an officer presses the record button, which is now being required in most states.
3. What makes your company unique?
We sell several body camera models and each have their own unique features — giving customers the ultimate choice. Some cameras are extremely lightweight while others have a super wide angle lens or removable battery option. We also offer local storage options for digital evidence management while other companies only offer cloud options.
4. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
We offer affordable solutions for police departments — large or small. I believe our customers see the overall value of our solution versus our competitors as well as the variety of cameras that are available to meet their needs. All of our cameras are also compatible with the klick fast mounting solution, which gives officers choices on where they want to mount the camera and how they want to mount it.
We also offer protection plans that fully cover any damage to the camera. It is our goal to work quickly with our customers to resolve any issues or problems when they arise to minimize downtime.
5. What's next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We are working on launching a new 4G body camera that will allow live streaming and enhanced options for all police personnel.
