Transcrypt Launches New Voice Privacy Module for Kenwood TK-2180/3180 Radios

Transcrypt KW12 scrambler Lincoln, NE - Transcrypt International, a subsidiary of EFJ, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFJI), has launched a new scrambler designed to provide voice security for Kenwood Model TK-2180, TK-3180 and other similar Kenwood portables and TK-X180 series mobile radios. Transcrypt’s new KW21-4XX scrambler offers secure voice communications to help protect sensitive audio transmissions from unwanted listeners, such as the media, adversaries, terrorists and insurgents.

The product can be manufactured to offer one of four varying levels of security, dependent on the needs of the end user and the level of privacy desired. This scrambler is very easy to install, having been designed using a custom form factor for these specific Kenwood radio models. It offers excellent voice recognition while the radio is operating in the secure mode and allows for seamless operation with the radio.

“The marketplace has shown a great deal of interest in a scrambler for these popular Kenwood radio models,” said Michael Kelley, general manager of Transcrypt International. “Kenwood dealers and distributors both domestically and internationally had requested that we design a scrambler for the Kenwood TK-2180/3180 radios and we are proud to launch this new product for those customers.” The two-way radio community can see a demonstration of this new product at the International Wireless Communications Expo from April 9 to 11.
