HUDSON, Fla. — A deputy deployed a TASER to stop a fleeing drug suspect during a traffic stop.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, deputies pulled over Cameron Ajax Jones, 34, Wednesday for running a stop sign. Police said when they approached the vehicle they saw hypodermic needles.

Deputies searched Jones and discovered two plastic bags in his pant pocket that contained a “clear, rock-like substance.” The deputies then placed the drugs on the trunk of the suspect’s car and continued to search him.

As deputies finished their search and attempted to arrest Jones, the suspect grabbed the bag of drugs off the trunk, threw it into the woods and fled, WTSP reported.

Jones ignored deputies commands to stop and was TASERed.

Police discovered .8 grams of meth, .9 grams of heroin and nine individual heroin packets inside the plastic bag, WPTV reported. A loaded syringe inside the vehicle tested positive for heroin. Police found 15 additional syringes as well.

Jones was arrested for possession of heroin, meth, paraphernalia, resisting an officer without violence, and tampering with physical evidence. Police said the television show “COPS” was filming the incident as well.
