LUBBOCK, Texas — A man is in custody after striking three officers with his car and setting off a two-day manhunt.

According to KCBD, Carlos Martinez, 32, was evicted from his apartment and went to collect his belongings on April 6 when he got into an argument with a person at the complex.

Police asked Martinez to exit his vehicle, and when he didn’t comply an officer deployed a TASER. Martinez put his car in reverse while officers were standing near the vehicle and struck three officers and a police cruiser. A child was in the front seat, but an officer was able to pull the child to safety, the news station reported.

Police fired shots at the fleeing vehicle.

All three injured officers were treated at a hospital and are currently recovering at home.

Police told KCBD that Martinez abandoned the vehicle in an alleyway and was on the run until Friday afternoon. He was taken into custody without incident after a citizen reported seeing him in an alley.

Martinez is facing three charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
