LUBBOCK, Texas — A man led police on a pursuit with two small children in the vehicle after officers attempted to pull him over for questioning.
KCBD reported that police saw a vehicle driving on March 29 that was possibly involved in a burglary where a firearm was stolen. When they attempted to pull over the car, driver Alize Castilleja, 18, spun out and fled.
The pursuit went through residential areas and escalated to both sides of an interstate until police rammed the car to end the pursuit, EverythingLubbock.com reported. When police approached the car, they discovered five people inside, including two small children.
No was was injured during the pursuit. According to EverythingLubbock.com, police discovered the stolen firearm inside the vehicle after the crash.
Castilleja was arrested for evading arrest, two counts of child endangerment as well as outstanding warrants. The two women in the car were not charged and were released with the children.
