FORT MYERS, Fla. — Police are searching today for a woman who escaped from the back of a Fort Myers Police patrol car around 2 a.m.

Jessica Steveson, 21, had been arrested for trespassing at a local apartment complex at 3585 Central Avenue in Fort Myers when she escaped from the back of a patrol car, according to Shelly Flynn, public information officer for the Fort Myers Police Department.

Officers believe she slipped through a partition from the back of a patrol car and escaped from the front of the car, Flynn said.

Flynn said she had never heard of someone escaping from the back of a patrol car through a partition into the front.

Steveson is described as 5’5”, approximately 110 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean Capri pants, Flynn said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Myers Police as 239-334-4155.
