Be aware that allowing the reactionary gap to close increases the possibility of a surprise attack from your subject. This may not allow the deployment of mechanical devices to control or incapacitate the subject. Therefore, one must faithfully train to retain CQC skills. The public we encounter does not broadcast their acquired knowledge.
By appearance alone, a law enforcement officer indicates he/she possesses some type of offensive/ defensive training. Never forget that the more training we do the more self confident and better officers we become and the possibilities of injury or worse during confrontations become less.
