Wis. agency takes delivery of new mobile command center

The custom command center could also double as a SWAT/Tactical response unit

Eau Claire County Sheriff in Wisconsin recently took delivery of a new SWAT/equipment vehicle from LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles.

The vehicle features a Ford Transit 350 high-roof chassis with a 3.5L V6 gas engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle features an integrated emergency lighting and siren package, including front grille lighting. A trailer hitch receiver was also installed on the command center. Custom black powder-coated running boards were added on the driver and passenger sides as well.

The command center has three workstations, each with a 32″ display monitor and spider base task chair. LDV custom fabricated an aluminum box pan shelving for gear finished in a durable gray powder coat.

There is a wall-mounted magnetic surface dry-erase whiteboard near the sliding curbside entry door. Fixed bench seating was also built and installed for staff.

Lighting throughout the vehicle is bright and efficient LED. The vehicle was also prewired for the agency’s communications radios.
