The pursuit happened on April 17 after a man, who was being transported from Piedmont Henry Hospital to Piedmont Regional, allegedly stole the ambulance outside the hospital with paramedics inside, FOX5 Atlanta reported.

The paramedics jumped from the moving ambulance, FOX5 Atlanta reported.

The video from an Atlanta Police Department reveals how the Atlanta Police Department and Georgia State Patrol safely apprehended the suspect.

During the pursuit, officers deployed stop sticks, but the suspect swerved to avoid them, nearly hitting an officer.

"… he had no regard for human life or property, using an ambulance as a wrecking ball, hitting multiple police cars, and causing property damage,” Sheriff Levon Allen told FOX 5 Atlanta.

After police performed a final PIT maneuver, the suspect lost control of the ambulance and crashed into a pole. He fled on foot, and officers eventually used a TASER on him before taking him into custody, according to the report.

The suspect was booked into the Clayton County Jail on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing, obstruction, theft by taking and hit-and-run.
