PORTAGE, Ind. — Body camera footage shows the rescue of a man who had been trapped in his crashed pickup truck for six days, CBS News reported.

Two fishermen, identified as Mario Garcia and Nivardo Delatorre, found Matt Reum, 27, under a bridge on Dec. 26. He had been trapped in the mangled driver’s side of his wrecked truck for nearly a week, according to the report.

Video shows an officer with the Portage, Indiana Police Department arriving on the scene, locating the truck and beginning to cut away the airbag. Firefighters then arrived to remove Reum.

“This is the craziest s**t I’ve ever seen,” an officer says in one of the videos. " I’ve never seen something like this before. He’s been trapped down here for that f***ing long. It’s insane!”

First responders worked for more than an hour to free Reum and give him medical attention, according to the report. After he was freed, he was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Reum gave first responders a journal he had kept about his days trapped in the car because he thought he might die, according to the report. He also requested a Big Mac.

Reum is now recovering from a leg amputation, a broken ankle and a broken hand. He posted on social media that he was out of physical rehabilitation and able to move around with a walker or wheelchair, according to the report.
