MONTREAL — Montreal police confirmed an emergency call that triggered a large police presence Friday afternoon was a hoax, according to CBC. Scenes of armed police, ambulances and an aerial shot of employees standing on a roof had many in Montreal concerned.

Canadian outlets reported that a major police operation was underway at the office building that houses gaming company Ubisoft. An Ubisoft employee told CTV News that in a company memo employees were told to keep quiet, hide in an area that locks and put their phones on silent.

Police roped off the area and were asking people to stay away.

The exact nature of the emergency call isn’t clear, but early, unsubstantiated reports said it was a possible hostage situation.

Police said no one was injured and no threat was found, according to CBC.
