LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. — An 11-year-old boy stole his stepfather’s pickup truck and led police on a high-speed pursuit of more than 100 mph Wednesday morning.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to the incident after the boy hit an ATM before driving onto a highway, 11Alive.com reported. Police tried to stop the boy on the highway, but he sped up instead – hitting a 16-year-old driver in front of him. The boy reached speeds of more than 100 mph during the pursuit. Eventually, the pursuit ended after the boy attempted to turn onto an interstate but missed an onramp, where the vehicle became stuck in a muddy area.

The boy was later released to his mother and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing, no seatbelt and no license. No one was injured in the incident.
