HURST, Texas — Roads are becoming slicker as the temperature continues to drop and one Texas police officer barely dodged an out-of-control vehicle.

The Hurst Police Department posted a video of officer Jonathan Cramer on Dec. 31 responding to an icy crash on Highway 183.

“The car was coming, I was just trying not to fall, trying to stay away from the traffic that was in my lane to my right,” Officer Cramer told FOX 4. “But unfortunately, I ended up falling. But fortunately, far enough away from that vehicle.”

The Hurst Police Department posted the video to its Facebook page to, “highly discourage traveling in the current weather conditions.”
