CBS did a great piece on the NOPD Sunday for the show 60 minutes.
Featured is New Orleans police Superintendent Eddie Compass describes holding together a city with no communications or ammo. He describes those 500 who deserted the force as something worse than cowards. The story also interviews a number of other officers from the station who lost everything they own. Some are still missing their family members.
Police1 chose to feature this clip because it shows the strength of law enforcement in America. Even under the nearly impossible stress of losing everything in a situation that was practically apocalyptic, these officers held their own and protected the citizens of their city.
