WEST UNION, Iowa (AP) -- A man who escaped from a police car after he was arrested on drug charges has turned himself in.
Kent Reuber, 41, of Westgate, and Connie McNeese, 51, were arrested last Friday at Reuber’s house.
Reuber was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a West Union squad car, while officers searched the home. Somehow, Reuber got out of the locked car, which had a prisoner cage and bars on the windows.
McNeese was taken to the Fayette County jail.
Authorities searched for Reuber all weekend, but he stayed out of sight. He surrendered on Monday.
McNeese and Reuber face a variety of drug charges. Reuber also faces an escape charge.
