The Fairfax County Police Department today will be loading into a donated Ryder truck nearly 5,000 wireless telephones that have been collected over two years. The phones will be refurbished in Michigan, in partnership with the Wireless Foundation. Fairfax police will receive funds from the donated phones to support various crime-prevention programs, according to a police statement.
