ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A man who attempted to rob an undercover police officer during a drug deal sting operation a year ago pleaded guilty on Monday to multiple felonies.

Scott Michael Allen, 29, pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges Aug. 27, the day his trial was set to begin, according to court records.

He pleaded guilty to one county each of armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felony firearms and four counts of resisting arrest.

One count each of delivery of a controlled substance less than 50 grams and possession of a controlled substance less than 25 grams was dismissed in his plea deal, records show.

The charges stem from an incident on May 8, 2017, in which Allen attempted to sell heroin and cocaine to an undercover agent, records show.

The officer agreed to meet Allen in the 9400 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Superior Township to buy drugs, but when the undercover officer pulled up and parked his car, Allen jumped in the back seat, armed and without warning, Livingston and Washtenaw Narcotics Enforcement Team officials previously said.

The undercover officer quickly identified himself and chased Allen out of the vehicle, police said. Allen fled on foot, but was captured a short time later, police said.

Allen is scheduled for sentencing at 1:30 p.m., Sept. 25, before Washtenaw County Trial Judge Carol Kuhnke. He is currently being held in the Washtenaw County Jail without bond.
