FERGUSON TWP, Pa. — Police often issue public service announcements about a wide range of topics, but the latest from Ferguson Township police? Don’t try to use a windshield as a trampoline.
Dash camera video shared Tuesday by the police department showed a 25-year-old man under the influence of drugs throw an object at the windshield, jump on the hood of the vehicle and then onto the windshield, shattering it.
He then feebly rolled off the vehicle and onto the ground.
“A drug-impaired 25-year-old ... tried to use one of our police cars as a trampoline,” the department wrote in the post. “Needless to say, it didn’t work.”

The incident occurred April 7, when an officer responded to Cato Avenue at about 5 p.m. for a report of a “suspicious male chasing people and cars around the parking lot,” Chief Chris Albright said.
The officer attempted to speak with the man, but he instead charged the police car and broke the windshield, which cost the township about $400 to replace, according to Albright.
Charges, including one felony count of aggravated assault and at least four misdemeanors, are pending.
