Miami PD hopes new ‘cop car’ will catch eyes, open minds
The department’s new three-wheel Polaris Slingshot will be used in community outreach efforts

MIAMI — The Miami Police have a brand new ride, but it won’t be used to catch criminals or pursue bad guys.
Instead, the department’s new three-wheel Polaris Slingshot will help officers connect with the communities they protect, and maybe even inspire a new generation of future cops, according to Fox.
“Kids are going to want to walk up to this car, see it, sit in it, talk to the policemen, the policemen get to talk to the kids,” Miami Police Chief Emilio Gonzalez said in a Facebook Live video.

The flashy autocycle was donated by the company and custom-painted black and white and outfitted with lights and sirens by a Miami custom car shop.
“This is going to be an icebreaker for us,” said Chief Gonzalez. “It’s going to be perfect, man, I’m super excited about it.”
