INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A photo posted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Sunday, the day a gunman killed three police officers in Baton Rouge, has gone viral.
The photo shows two children of a police officer on their knees by his patrol car “praying their father and all police officers return home safely,” ABC News reported.
“In nearly 30 years of law enforcement, I have never witnessed the types of brazen attacks we are seeing against officers,” IMPD Police Chief Troy Riggs said in a statement in response to Baton Rouge, and asked for the community’s help in identifying any threats against law enforcement.
The photo has struck a cord with the online community - garnering more than 3,000 shares and 5,000 reactions on Facebook in less than 24 hours.
