Authorities said the officers reported burning sensations on the skin, burning eyes and shortness of breath. Two adults and a juvenile at the home were also treated.
Neighbor Sara Holloway said after they saw a plainclothes officer carried out on the shoulder of a man wearing an oxygen mask, they knew it was bad.
“That’s when it kind of hit us: Something very bad, chemically, unfortunately, something that is hazardous to the children and the neighborhood is here,” she said.
Six adults and a juvenile were arrested during the incident, CBS4Indy reported. An investigation is ongoing.
