ATLANTA — A former Atlanta police officer was one of seven CIA agents killed in a bombing last week in Afghanistan.
Agent Scott Roberson -- 39-years-old -- began his law enforcement career in Atlanta as an officer in the west end. It’s been more than a decade since Scott Roberson left the Atlanta Police Department but his reputation still stands firmly in place.
“Somebody you would always want with you, if you were having a problem,” said Deputy Chief Peter Andresen. Deputy chiefs saw it and as one Sergeant said, so did the officers working alongside the man, they all called “Scotty.”
“Scotty always aspired to do better. That’s what he did. And that’s why he was where he was at,” said Atlanta Police Sgt. Jack Bentley.
Roberson was in the Khost province of Afghanistan -- working for the CIA -- when last Wednesday, a suicide bomber somehow managed to get inside the CIA outpost.
The blast killed seven agents.
