PARIS — The NYPD sent an honor unit to Paris Tuesday in solidarity with French police after three officers were killed in last week’s terrorist attacks.
CBS New York reports the officers were sent Tuesday to the memorial in honor of the slain officers.
NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton tweeted a picture of the officers standing with French police, writing, “We stand together with our law enforcement partners in Paris. Our prayers are with the families of all who were lost.”
Officers Franck Brinsolaro and Ahmed Merabet were killed during the attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices last Wednesday. A third officer, Clarissa Jean-Philippe, was killed the following day while on patrol.
“When you kill a police officer anywhere in the free world, a little bit of society dies with them,” Bratton wrote in a statement.
