Paso Robles police followed a trail of radiator fluid to nab the alleged culprit in a hit-and-run accident, a spokesman said.
The car ran into a parked 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck around 10:50 p.m. Thursday in front of a home at 824 Crazy Horse, police Lt. Robert Burton said.
Officers followed the liquid trail left by the car’s busted radiator for nearly a mile to the Creston Garden Apartments, 1255 Creston Road, Burton said.
There, police found a 1995 Plymouth Neon with heavy front end damage.
Officer arrested the Neon’s owner, 19-year-old Eber Alcaraz, on suspicion of drunken driving, hit-and-run and driving without a license.
Burton said Alcaraz tested positive for more than double the legal blood alcohol limit at the Paso Robles Police Station.
He was apparently not injured in the crash.
