FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Police have launched an internal investigation after video surfaced of an officer punching a resisting woman.
Two officers appeared on the video attempting to arrest a woman. The woman states multiple times the officers did not have an arrest warrant for her and she struggled as they attempted to handcuff her.
Then, the officer punches the woman in the face.
The Flagstaff Police said in a statement sent to News12 that they began an internal investigation immediately upon hearing about the incident.
“Our agency is very concerned by what is depicted in this video,” Sgt. Cory Runge said in the statement.
