FAR HILLS, N.J. — A retired officer participating in the Police Unity Tour remains in critical condition with little hope of survival, police told NJ.com.
Retired Roxbury police Lt. Joseph Franklin was critically injured Monday during the first day of the 320-mile tour to Washington, D.C. in honor of slain officers.
Details on the crash were not released and the incident was currently under investigation.
The Police Unity Tour began in 1997 with 18 riders. The current event has over 1,700 participating officers.
