ORLANDO – Disturbing footage filmed by club-goers at the scene of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history captures gunfire erupting and emergency services working the scene.
One particularly haunting video uploaded to social sharing site Snapchat captures initial shots ringing out. The video was reportedly taken by 25-year-old Amanda Alvear, who was among the 49 people shot and killed in the attack.
Another video filmed by a bystander captures the sound of a gun battle between SWAT officers and the gunman, 29-year-old Omar Mateen. Mateen called 911 and announced his allegiance to the Islamic State during the attack, according to the Associated Press.
Two videos capture emergency services tending to victims outside of the club.

President Barack Obama on Monday said there is no clear evidence the shooter was directed to carry out his attack or was part of a larger plot, but federal officials are still in the preliminary phases of their investigation, which they are treating as a terrorism investigation.
At least 53 people were wounded in the attack and are currently hospitalized.
