NEW YORK — Verizon debuted a campaign honoring the first responders who saved the lives of NFL players.
“The Team that Wouldn’t Be Here” is a two-week initiative that kicked off with a 60-second spot during the AFC and NFC Championship games.
The campaign shares true stories of 11 NFL players and one coach whose lives were saved in traumatic situations by first responders.
The name of the campaign highlights the fact that they would not be where they are today if it weren’t for the first responders.
According to Verizon, the first responders involved in the campaign inspired the company to follow the television spots with a 30-minute documentary, which will expand their stories. It will premiere Thursday, Jan. 31 at the Verizon Experience at Super Bowl Live.
The company is also donating $1 to First Responders Outreach for every social share of the campaign with the tag #AllOurThanks, up to $1.5 million.
