As a police officer, you face extraordinary challenges every day because it’s what you were born to do. You’re not in it for praise or accolades (even though you absolutely deserve them). But it’s still nice to be acknowledged for the service you provide, and many companies offer great discounts for being a law enforcement officer.
Discounts for law enforcement officers
We’ve gathered dozens of fantastic discounts you can use for everything from outdoor gear to clothing to personal electronics to a relaxing getaway. Check out these great deals for cops.
Car and property insurance
If you’ve also served our country in the military, you can get a discount on auto insurance. Several providers dole out discounts, so it’s important to compare different auto insurers to see which provides the best discount for veterans. As a police officer, you might have the best luck securing a discount by working directly with your insurance agent or broker. We’ve often found discounts are available simply by asking and it’s often possible to stack multiple discounts if you insure your auto and home, have a clean driving record or have vehicle safety and theft prevention devices.
Liberty Mutual: Liberty Mutual, in partnership with the Fraternal Order of Police, helps officers save 12% or more on auto and home insurance.
- Country Financial: Full-time police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics are eligible for car insurance discounts from Country Financial.
Personal electronics
Samsung: The Samsung First Responders Offers program offers discounts to police and other first responders on mobile phones, wearables, home entertainment and home appliances.
Apple: The popular electronics brand offers government employees special pricing on some personal electronic devices. To redeem their offer go to this page and then select the affiliation - shop for your agency or shop for yourself - that best matches your purchase intent.
GoPro: Capture high-quality action videos from training, incidents and off-duty pursuits with a GoPro camera. Police officers and other first responders get a 15% GoPro discount on full-price GoPro products.
- HP: The HP Frontline Heroes Stores awards discounts up to 40%, along with free shipping and easy returns, to police and other first responders.
Resorts, cruises, theme parks
- Sandals Resorts: If you’re able to get away to a Sandals Resort, do it at a discount. Active and retired police officers can get an additional 10 percent discount on any promotion at Sandals Resorts.
- Royal Caribbean: Royal Caribbean offers special pricing for police officers, firefighters, military personnel and veterans on select ships and sailings. Anyone occupying the same room as the officer is also eligible for the discount. Refer to their website for a more detailed look at discounted rates.
- Great Wolf Lodge: Save up to 30% with the Howlin’ Heroes discount at Great Wolf Lodge using the promo code HEROES. Enjoy this discount on an overnight stay with access to the water park and dryland activities.
- Six Flags: Get an admission discount on all the thrilling twists, turns, and treats that Six Flags America has to offer. The admission ticket must be purchased online and not at the gate.
Sporting goods and outdoors
- Smith & Wesson: The American Guardians program offers specially priced Smith & Wesson firearms to law enforcement officers and other first responders through authorized dealers. Visit the S&W American Guardians program to see which firearms are included and to confirm your qualifications.
- Silencer Central: All police officers, retired and active, receive 10% off the Silencer Central Banish Suppressors. Bulk order discounts are also available for qualifying law enforcement agencies.
Safariland: Need to upgrade your holster, body armor or tactical gear? Check out the Safariland exclusive law enforcement and first responder discount program.
Cleaning your firearm is not just about maintaining its aesthetics or functionality; it’s essential for ensuring safety and reliability- Leatherman: Unlock the Leatherman first responder discount on multi-tools, knives, apparel and accessories. Once verified you can save 30% on three Leatherman items each year.
- Therabody: Deep muscle massage with a Therabody theragun can improve performance and mobility, relieve stress and activate muscles. The Therabody 20% discount is for to law enforcement officers and first responders.

Mobile phone/cellular service
- AT&T: Police officers and other first responders get the best price on the AT&T unlimited plans. Submit the AT&T first responder verification form to confirm your eligibility.
- T-Mobile: First Responders get 40% off family lines with the T-Mobile Go5G unlimited plan, with 5G access included.
- Verizon: All first responders, including law enforcement officers, can apply for the discounted Mobile myPlan from Verizon, with up to 4 lines of unlimited welcome service.
Footwear and apparel
- MLBShop.com, NFLshop.com, NBAShop.com, NASCARShop.com and NHLShop.com: Sports fans rejoice. The NFL offers a 15% discount to law enforcement. The NBA, NHL, NASCAR and MLB also offer 15% off to officers and their families.
- Columbia Sportswear: Columbia’s Professional Purchase Program offers a discount to all employees of government agencies who actively work outdoors, as well as law enforcement officers and military personnel. Under the terms of service, members of the Professional Purchase Program may not disclose pricing information to anyone who is not an active member of the program.
- Lululemon: As a police officer you can save 15% on Lululemon women’s and men’s athletic and athleisure clothing. This discount can be used online and in stores.
- Under Armour: Active police officers, firefighters, EMS providers, military personnel and veterans can take advantage of a 10% discount offered by the clothing brand Under Armour. You just need to select the military and first responder discount at checkout (if you’re online shopping) and you can verify your status instantly.
- Huk: Take 15% off the popular sun-protection shirts and hoodies from Huk.
- Oakley Standard Issue: This division of Oakley Inc. caters to first responders, military personnel and other government employees. Products through this division are marked at a special rate. Register on their webpage for access to products at discounted prices.
- Reebok: First responders can get 50% off Reebok footwear and apparel.
- Nike: First responders can receive a 10% discount on most items available at Nike.com.
- Hat Club: Represent your favorite team with a law enforcement discount from Hat Club.
- Triple Fat Goose: After verification first responders receive a discount on high-performance cold weather coats from Triple Fat Goose.
Cars and trucks
- Ford: Ford offers discounts to police officers through its First Responder Appreciation Program. The offers vary, so you’ll need to complete the eligibility application to see the bonus cash you’ll receive when you buy a car through the program.
- General Motors: The General Motors first responder discount program offers up to $500 off select Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles and up to $1,000 off select Cadillacs.
Shopping clubs
- Costco: Costco offers an exclusive discount to first responders on their membership. New members are also eligible to receive a $20 shop card. Note: this offer is only for new memberships, not member renewals.
- Sam’s Club: Sam’s Club shows its appreciation to law enforcement and other first responders with a special membership offer. New members receive a 60% discount on a Club membership or $50 off a Sam’s Club plus membership.
- GOVX: All uniformed professionals, including military, police, firefighters and EMS providers are offered membership with GOVX, which includes savings on hundreds of retail brands, exclusive sports, concert and other tickets as well as special deals on travel packages, hotels, rental cars and theme parks.
Coffee, beer and food
- Fire Department Coffee: The firefighter creators and owners of Fire Department Coffee support all first responders, not just firefighters. The Fire Department Coffee discount code of 15% off is good for like. FDC is a veteran-owned coffee company.
- Black Rifle Coffee Company: Black Rifle Coffee Company, another veteran-owned and operated coffee company extends a 25% off your first subscription to police, fire and EMS.
- Athletic Brewing Co. : All first responders are eligible for 10% savings on Athletic Brewing Co. non-alcoholic beer, sparkling water and merchandise.
Restaurants
- Jake Melnick’s Corner and Tap: If you are a Chicago police officer or firefighter Jake’s sports bar in downtown Chicago will take 25% of your bill or 10% off your event. Just show your badge to get the discount.
Education and training
- Liberty University: All first responders can receive a 25% tuition discount from Liberty University. First responders also receive a free evaluation of training and life experience for college credit, personalized service throughout your college experience from a team of knowledgeable academic advisors and potential stacking of benefits with other discount programs.
Preparedness and survival
- American Family Safety. All first responders can save 15% on preparedness supplies and survival kits using the American Family Safety first responder discount.
Read the fine print
Before booking or purchasing, make sure to read the fine print to confirm your eligibility. In general, to receive the discount you’ll need to:
- Employed full-time or a retiree from a state, federal or local law enforcement agency
- Verify your status by presenting valid proof of employment
If you are a volunteer, your eligibility for a discount is likely going to depend on the brand or the merchant. Finally, some merchants use a 3rd-party verification service like ID.me, VerifyPass or SheerID.com.
Finally, before taking a discount, be sure you know your department’s policy on accepting such gifts – no discount is worth losing your job.
