Duty Death: Michael Boehm - [Washington]

WASHINGTON — Helping with an investigation, a US Park Police sergeant collapsed and died on duty Friday.
Michael Boehm, a 19-year police veteran who had served in the US Army, collapsed shortly after arriving at Key Bridge to assist a critically injured person who had jumped, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. He was transported to a university hospital where he passed away.
The man who jumped from the bridge also died, NBC Washington reported. According to reports, he was found on the ground beside the C&O Canal.
Key Bridge was closed for a few hours following the deaths and reopened to traffic later Friday evening.
Boehm was a husband and father of one.
