TOWSON, Md. — Baltimore County police arrested a man wanted in the shooting of an off-duty police officer in Overlea earlier this month.
Police said Michael Jabateh, 18, was arrested after a foot chase Thursday night. He’s now charged with attempted first-degree murder and other crimes.
Police said Jabateh shot through the officer’s car door after the officer honked his horn to try to disperse a large crowd that was leaving a house party. The officer was struck multiple times but survived.
Jabateh was arrested in Essex Thursday night. Police said a gun he dropped during the chase has been linked to the shooting.
Online court records don’t show a lawyer for Jabateh, who is being held without bail at the county detention center.
