Beware, single-shot .22 disguised as ink pen being sold over internet.

Check it out

Editor’s note: Our thanks to Officer Brown for his excellent alert. This “pen” serves as a reminder that in police work, nothing can be overlooked, particularly during a pat-down or search. Even seemingly harmless objects can pose a threat in the wrong hands so whatever you find on a subject, check it out…carefully.

This disguised weapon also illustrates why it’s important to keep your eyes open for any movement or behavior that tweaks your curiosity or stirs your survival instincts. If during a contact someone is showing interest in hiding a pen from your sight (or any other object for that matter) or seems reluctant to put it down if ordered, take note and proceed with caution. It may look harmless but within seconds, it could threaten your safety or even your life.
