MERRIAM, Kan. — Kansas police released dash cam footage of an officer’s close call with the hope that it will prompt drivers to slow down and move over when they see first responders on the roadway.

The video shows Corp. Seth Mullis walking back to his vehicle during a traffic stop when a vehicle crashes into the officer’s patrol car.
“I heard this other accident occur, and I turn and look and this car starts rolling towards me,” Mullis told KMBC. “I wasn’t sure whether to jump one way or the other way and so I ended up just kind of going up.”
Every person involved walked away from the October incident with no injuries.
“Luckily I’m OK, but yeah, you definitely get a different perspective when you look back on things,” Mullis said.
