JONESBORO, Ga. — The 13-year-old shot by a Clayton County police officer during a home burglary died late Wednesday afternoon, according to the GBI.
Trevion Davis, of Jonesboro, was shot in the head by Clayton County police officers responding to a burglary on Bonanza Church Road, according to police.
Officers saw multiple suspects leaving the location and attempted to make contact with Trevion, who had a gun, according to police. An officer was forced to open fire, shooting the boy in the head, police said Wednesday.
The teen was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning on the teen at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office, John Bankhead, GBI spokesman, told the AJC.
The GBI is assisting with the investigation into the shooting.
