Video: Tenn. police pursue suspect with ‘Just Married’ on vehicle

It was unclear whether the suspect was running away from his marriage

MT. JULIET, Tenn. — Police pursued a driver with “Just Married” written on the back of his vehicle after he almost hit a patrol vehicle, WKRN reported.

Michael Smith, 27, was seen swerving on March 3 by an officer on her way to work. The officer attempted to stop Smith, who turned his vehicle towards the officer in her cruiser and nearly rammed into her.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle again, but Smith sped off. Authorities pursued Smith who crashed into several guardrails and barriers. Eventually Smith pulled off the highway and stopped in a parking lot, surrendering voluntarily.

He was arrested and charged with evading arrest, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
