Video: UK cops give 360-degree look into emergency response

The footage shows the officers responding to a suspicious person call

KINGSTON, England — A video posted by Kingston police on Facebook is offering users a 360-degree view into an emergency response call.

The video allows its viewer to look at any angle of the car, from the driver’s seat to the road.

According to the Daily Mail, the officers were responding to a suspicious person call on July 26 when the footage was filmed. The video, originally posted last year and reuploaded this week, shows them speeding down the roadway to the location of the suspect.

Once officers arrived on the scene, no charges were filed after officers decided no one had committed a crime.

The idea to film the video, viewed over 140,000 times, came after the department live streamed a moment on the beat via Periscope in 2015, Officer Sebastian Ellis said.

“We were one of the first forces in the county to live stream [an incident],” Ellis told the Daily Mail.

He said the department wanted to give viewers at home the chance to see what it was like to respond to an emergency call in a patrol car.

“The 360 system allows the viewer to look at any angle they wish and see the pressure the driver/operator face and their teamwork while responding to an emergency call,” he said. “We’re going to do another one at some point soon.”
