TRENTON, NJ — Thousands of unionized cops and firefighters rallied in New Jersey against layoffs and the Governor’s plan to have them contribute more to health and pension plans.
“Less public safety officers means equals more abiding people being less protected,” said Assemblyman John F. McKeon (D). “Bottom line.”
Leading officers and firefighters took to the podium as well, delivering their message passionately.
“We are here deliver a message, begins NJ Policemen’s Benevolent Association President Anthony Wieners. “Enough is enough!”
“If it’s a choice between saving money and saving lives, do the right thing and help us save lives,” said Dominick Marino, President of the Professional Firefighters Association of NJ.
