UNIONTOWN, Ohio — Dash cam video captured officers as they rescued an unconscious man from a burning vehicle.
19 Action News reports Sgt. Mike Batchik and Captain Dave Brown responded to the scene of two vehicles on fire in a grocery store parking lot Monday.
Bystanders were attempting to free a man from one of the vehicles.
The officers quickly broke through the driver’s side window and freed the 68-year-old man. He had passed out from a medical emergency and crashed into a vehicle in the lot, causing both cars to catch fire.
The man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and later released. No one else was injured in the incident. Both officers will receive an award for their efforts, according to the report.
