LANSING — A terrifying moment for a family in Michigan had a happy ending after an Ingham County Sheriff’s deputy rescued a choking baby.

According to WJBK, the Ingham County Sheriff’s got a 911 call after a woman told the dispatcher that a baby wasn’t breathing. When officials arrived, they found a baby with no pulse inside the home.

The deputy’s quick response can be seen in the body-worn video, which shows one deputy running inside and patting the baby’s back to dislodge the obstruction as the other deputy grabs a CPR kit and bag-valve mask.

After a few moments of treatment, the baby began to breathe on his own, the video shows.

The sheriff’s office said the baby has been resting and is doing much better.

“We are proud of our deputies’ abilities to serve our community by responding with precise training and applying skills that save lives,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post.
