PHOENIX — Phoenix police used a grappler device to stop a driver on State Route 51, AZ Family reported.
The Arizona Department of Transportation traffic camera video shows unmarked police vehicles following a white sedan before a black SUV deployed the grappler, a nylon net that jams a vehicle’s tire. Debris flew into the air, and smoke was visible as the car came to a stop.
More than a dozen law enforcement vehicles then surrounded the sedan, with some officers drawing their weapons. The suspect was taken into custody and booked on multiple felony warrants, including burglary, according to the report.
Traffic was briefly halted before the freeway reopened.
