MANCHESTER, N.H. — A Manchester West High School student is under arrest on charges he threatened a Columbine-type shooting at the school, with targets including a former girlfriend, a police officer and faculty members.
Court documents say 17-year-old Sterling Lindbloom of Manchester made the threat in a phone calls to his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday. He was arrested Thursday without incident.
Court papers say Lindbloom planned to go to Massachusetts to get guns. Police said they did not find any weapons on Lindbloom when he was arrested, but that they did find ammunition, knives and hatchets in a lean-to in woods near his home.
In an affidavit filed at Manchester District Court, police Detective Jamie Branch, who is West High’s school resource officer, said Lindbloom told him he was one of the intended targets. They also included the principal, a vice-principal, the school’s ROTC commander and students including the former girlfriend.
Police reported Lindbloom said he then intended to shoot himself.
