PHILADELPHIA — Rapper Kanye West made headlines earlier this week after he revealed he was $53 million dollars in debt and publicly asked Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for help. While Zuckerberg has yet to respond to the request, an offer to help West with his financial woes has emerged from an unexpected source: the Philadelphia Police Department.
ABC 6 reported that Philly police are extending a helping hand after West’s Twitter tirade with a job officer, complete with a photoshopped version of what West would look like as a cop.
“We R [sic] hiring @kanyewest,” the department tweeted. “Starting salary of $47,920; u [sic] could be debt-free by the year 3122!”

The department then linked to their careers webpage.
West revealed he was in debt last week, then tweeted Zuckerberg to contribute to his creativity, calling himself “the Michael Jordan of music.”

“Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas,” West wrote.“I need access to more money in order to bring more beautiful ideas to the world; If I spent my money on my ideas I could not afford to take care of my family.”
Philly sergeant and social media coordinator Eric Gripp said if West joined the force it would be good for the city.
“He’s very introspective and forthcoming, so perhaps his personality could help make inroads with some members of the community. That, and his hiring would save me from ever having to rap for the PPD again. That’s a win for me and the city,” Gripp tweeted to the publication.
West has yet to respond to the tweet.
