SPARTANBURG, S.C. — When Officer Cody Garrett found a pint-sized kitten in a dumpster, he nursed it back to health and adopted it, ABC News reported.

Garrett, 28, found the kitten, now named “Squirt,” in a dumpster on a rainy day last week.

“I offered to take her because I have another rescue at home who is currently nursing her four kittens,” he told the news site. “She wanders around the house and she already looks 100 times better than when we found her.”

Squirt joins a big family. In addition to the other rescue cat and her kittens, Garrett also has two dogs. Squirt is fitting in just fine, he said.

“She’s playing with her new brothers and sisters and they’re all talking to each other,” he said.

A photo of the rescued kitten exploded on social media — gaining over 2 million views in two days.
