The officers are trying to find and thank the writer of the note

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Two officers on a lunch break received an encouraging note from a teenager, FOX 25 reported.

Officer Rance Quinn, a 20-year veteran, was dining with his partner at Chili’s when another patron dropped off a short but sweet note handwritten on a napkin. The officers were deeply touched by the “powerful” words.

“This young lady touched us in a way she might not have realized,” the police department wrote on Facebook. “We’re human, too. We like to feel the love just like everybody else does.”

After the teen dropped off the note and walked out with her family, another woman approached the officers and explained how her 5-year-old deaf son always wanted to meet a cop. The mother then gave them a gift card to show her support.

The officers chatted with the family for a bit and went to pay for their meal but discovered it was already paid for by the teen who left the note.

Quinn told WDAF-TV he was incredibly touched by the encouragement and keeps the napkin on his person at all times as a reminder of why he serves.

The post garnered over 1,500 shares and 3,300 reactions.
