LYNN, Mass. — Two suspects were shot by Lynn police and one suffered life-threatening injuries after the men allegedly opened fire during a standoff with cops Thursday night, the Essex District Attorney’s office said.

Police said about 6:35 p.m. they responded to a Wayne Street house for a report of an armed home invasion and found three men barricaded inside.

During the standoff, one of the men, identified as Randall McClain, 29, of Lynn, was shot in the arm after allegedly shooting at police from a second-floor window. McClain surrendered and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for surgery, DA Jonathan Blodgett’s office said.

The second suspect, Sokhannara Chea, 22, of Lynn, brandished a semi-automatic weapon from the home’s front porch as police negotiators tried to convince him to surrender, according to the district attorney. At about 11:30 p.m., Chea fired on officers who then returned fire, authorities said.

Chea was taken to Salem Hospital for surgery and was listed yesterday in critical but stable condition.

A third suspect, who was not injured, Butchhay Chourb, 22, of Lynn, pleaded not guilty to armed home invasion and was ordered held on $100,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Lynn District Court yesterday afternoon.
