ELYRIA, Ohio — New dashcam video released by the Ohio State Patrol on Tuesday shows part of the incident that killed Bluffton police officer Dominic Francis. Francis was struck last week while deploying stop sticks.

According to WTVG, the new footage shows the pursuit that ensued after Francis was hit, including a PIT maneuver and an arrest. The video does not show the crash that killed Francis.

The incident began March 31 when troopers tried to pull over a speeding car. Three suspects in the car led police on a multi-county pursuit before crashing. One suspect was arrested at the scene and another suspect was found hiding after an hours-long manhunt. But the third suspect, Dante Tate, stole a Toyota Prius and led police on a second pursuit. The video below shows the second pursuit.

In the video, Tate weaves in and out of traffic with multiple police vehicles in pursuit. At one point, Tate drives across a grassy median. A trooper attempts a PIT maneuver, but Tate manages to drive off. The edited video cuts to the end of the pursuit, which shows the Prius went off the road and crashed. Bodycam video released last week shows Tate’s arrest. In that video, officers order Tate out of the car with his hands up and Tate is taken into custody.

Tate is now charged with receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Emin Johnson is charged with involuntary manslaughter, failure to comply with police, and receiving stolen property. Zachary Love is charged with receiving stolen property and having weapons under disability.
